All that was needed was installing the Chrome extension and I was good to go. I of course decided to use Google Chrome. The next step is deciding which browser will be your weapon of choice. All you have to do is download the MightyText application to your smartphone of choice and sync it to your Gmail/number you’re going to use. Setting up MightyText wasn’t as painful an experience as I had imagined and setup took less than five minutes to get going. At 1st I was a bit weary and thinking of how it would translate my information from SMS to PC and vice versa leaving a mess of information. Doing some searches helped me come across MightyText. While always sitting at a PC 8hrs a day I was thinking there has to be something that helps me respond to some of the text messages I get and in a real-time matter. Unfortunately, I’m not always able to reach and grab my phone. AirDroid is another tool that can do this, but there are so many features with AirDroid that sending text messages from your browser isn't such a fast and convenient prospect.I stumbled upon MightyText one day while sitting at my desk at work. Simon briefly mentioned MightyText in his article on how to text from your browser. ![]() It's for all of these reasons that I went out in search of a way to continue sending text messages with my phone even when my phone is nowhere near me, and that's when I stumbled across the MightyText extension for Chrome. And most of all, it's one of the most highly addictive forms of communication in the world. It's convenient, but it's not annoying if managed right. It's a little more "instant" than e-mail but not as intrusive as a phone call. If you're already on the phone or you're away from your phone, a received text message isn't "missed", it's simply there waiting on the phone for the next time you check. If you're in a meeting and a call would have interrupted it, a text message produces nothing more than a tiny "ding". It didn't take very long for me to realize the value of this form of messaging. Years later, as each member of my family started to purchase and use their own smartphones, I started receiving text messages. ![]()
